Mechanical Engineer
Mechanical Engineer (Albany, OR). Develop designs for mechanical products and measure and evaluate performance of products.
Job Duties:
Full Time
Occasional travels required (Location: USA, China, Europe; Frequency: Once a year, or less; Nature of the travel: Meeting with suppliers).
Salary $78,312 per year.
Utilizing knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, develop new products for our company according to our customers’ need and requirements with strong emphasis on “thinking outside the box” to develop innovative ideas and adapt those ideas into workable products;
Applying specialized knowledge in mechanical design, design methods, and computer aided design and engineering, research and design our products using various computer software and tools. Develop and test prototypes as necessary and optimize the product.
Based on knowledge in manufacturing process, monitor the manufacturing process of the product and advise on all aspects of manufacturing methods, materials selection, and fabrication;
Measure and evaluate the performance of the final product and its specifications and provide recommendations on manufacturing and production aspects for attainment of desired quality of developed products.
Calculate the dynamics of motion of mechanisms using the principles of motion dynamics and calculus (Differential Equations, Lagrangian Mechanics, etc.);
Conduct motion simulations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) simulations for analyzing forces and stresses on various components of the new product ideas during operation. Based on the simulation results, develop new tool prototypes.
Develop customized designs of Brushless DC (BLDC) Motors using the principles of Electromagnetic Induction.
Review and analyze product specifications for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and related specifications. Working closely with the company’s lead engineer and other personnel, make recommendations for implementing new operating procedures
Set and maintain high standard for a product development philosophy throughout the conception, design, prototyping, evaluation, manufacturing, and operation evaluations; and
Work closely with the company’s management team to ensure the new products are in line with the company’s goals, policies, and procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering;
- 2 years of experience in working as a Mechanical Engineer or in other Mechanical engineering positions;
- 2 years of experience using CAD tools (Solidworks, Creo/Pro-E, etc) and Drafting;
- 2 years of experience using Knowledge of manufacturing processes;
- 2 years of experience using Mechanics of materials;
- 1.5 years of experience conducting Part design and analysis;
- 1.5 years of experience designing for manufacturing and assembly;
- 1 year of experience using FEA;
- Knowledge of Thermal management as demonstrated by completion of related graduate/undergraduate course(s);
- Knowledge of BLDC Motor design as demonstrated by completion of related graduate/undergraduate course(s); and
- Knowledge of Project management as demonstrated by completion of related graduate/undergraduate course(s).
